Epoxy resin is a modern and versatile material that offers numerous advantages in both trade and industry. Its properties make it ideal for creative projects, long-lasting coatings and secure bonding. If you are looking for a high-performance and flexible material, epoxy resin will achieve excellent results.
Buy high-quality epoxy resin and save money
Our range includes various high-quality epoxy resins. We distinguish between laminating resin, casting resin, gel coat, top coat, and primers. With our epoxy casting resin systems, you can achieve different casting heights of 2 cm, 5 cm, and 10 cm. Depending on the intended use, our resin is available in high or low viscosity. Synthetic resin reinforced with fibers has good strength properties. Glass fabric, carbon fiber fabric, and synthetic fibers such as aramid fabric are mainly used for reinforcement. These combinations are used to manufacture fiber composites in order to produce laminates and components with high strength and good chemical resistance.
Discover the variety
Modern molds are now made from glass fiber reinforced plastics. There are two types of molds—positive molds and negative molds. With a little craftsmanship, it's not difficult to build one yourself. Take a look at our tips and tricks or give us a call to find out more!
Epoxy resin is an extremely versatile synthetic resin that is ideal for a variety of applications. Whether for sealing, laminating, casting, or repairing, our resin has a wide range of applications thanks to the use of different hardeners as reaction partners.
Applications of epoxy resin
Ultra-light fiber composite components can be manufactured for use in aerospace, motorsports, and boat building. A super-stable corrosion protection coating is also an option. Rapid pipe renovations or terrarium sealing can be carried out with PHD-24 epoxy resins. It can be used for durable coatings, e.g., for industrial floors, garage coatings, warehouses, or even furniture. Whether swimming pools or swimming ponds, watercourses or garden ponds, with our resins, there are virtually no limits to your ideas. Components or art objects can also be manufactured using casting processes.
The definition of epoxy resins (EP)
Epoxy resins (EP) are plastics consisting mainly of linear or partially cross-linked macromolecules. After adding reactants (hardener), the macromolecules combine to form a cross-linked, thermosetting structure.
The properties of epoxy resins
Epoxy resins have high static and dynamic strength, making them ideal for use in a variety of applications. They exhibit low shrinkage during curing and good dimensional stability. Their strong adhesion makes them a very good adhesive. Epoxy resins are also resilient at high temperatures and exhibit good resistance to chemicals and weathering. Their dielectric properties are very good, making them suitable as insulating materials. In addition, epoxy resins are flame-retardant and exhibit high glow resistance.
The curing time of epoxy resin is influenced by various factors, such as humidity, temperature, and which epoxy resin with hardener is used. Normally, it takes about 24 to 72 hours for the epoxy resin to cure. With casting resins, it can sometimes take 3 to 5 days.
There are different mixing ratios for epoxy resin, depending on which system you use. The two-component systems are precisely matched to each other. It is essential to adhere strictly to the mixing ratio, which can only be achieved by weighing the components accurately using digital scales.
Gloves, a respirator mask, and safety goggles should always be worn. We also recommend wearing appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin contact. Processing should only take place in well-ventilated rooms. Ensure that the room and material temperatures are normal.
During processing, fresh splashes or uncured residues can be removed with acetone or isopropanol and a cleaning cloth. Cured synthetic resins are best removed mechanically, by sanding with sandpaper or using a sander. It is essential to pay attention to the heat generated during this process.
