Fillers

Modification of epoxy resin or polyester resin with filler

Adding fillers to synthetic resin can improve the properties of the resin. Mechanical properties such as hardness, temperature shock resistance, dimensional stability, flow and processing properties, and abrasion resistance can be optimised as a result. Some of the most common fillers for epoxy resin or polyester resin are listed below

  1. Glass fiber chips are used to produce fiber-reinforced fillers, adhesives, and molding compounds.
  2. Microballoons (micro hollow glass spheres) are suitable for producing lightweight, easily sandable fillers and for hollow moldings. They can also be used to reduce the weight of resin layers.
  3. Microflakes made of cotton are used to produce fillers and adhesives as well as for coupling layers in the mold-making industry.
  4. Thixotropic agents are used to produce non-sagging topcoat resins and to produce fillers and adhesives.

Our range of fillers for synthetic resins offers a variety of options that are suitable for various applications in the GRP sector. All fillers are mixed with epoxy resin or polyester resin. Please note that the amount added varies depending on the product and is specified in the product description.

Area of application for filling, adhesive, and coupling layers in mold making:

These materials are ideal for the production of filling and adhesive compounds as well as coupling layers for mold making. They are plastic fillers and are mixed with polyester resin and epoxy resin.
