fillers
The properties of the resins are changed by fillers, e.g. mechanical properties such as hardness, thermal shock resistance, dimensional stability, flow and processing properties and abrasion resistance are improved.
- Glass fibre chips are used for the production of fibre-reinforced filling, bonding and pressing compounds.
- Microballs hollow glass microspheres are used to create light, easily grindable fillers and coves. Inorganic hollow microspheres are also used to reduce the weight of resin layers.
- Microflocks cotton flocks are used for the production of fillers and adhesives, as well as for coupling layers in mould making.
- Thixotropic agent is used for the production of non-leaking topcoat resins and for the production of fillers and adhesives.
- Paraffin solution can be added to the laminating resin or gelcoat to achieve a tack-free curing surface.
