Laminating Resin
Our laminating resins for hand lay-up and fibre spraying processes are medium to highly reactive, cobalt-preaccelerated, thixotropic, unsaturated polyester resins based on orthophthalic acid. Due to their outstanding special properties, polyester resin laminating resins are preferably used for the manufacture of tanks, boats, car bodies and industrial components that are subject to higher requirements.

What is the difference between sticky and non-sticky?
Sticky means that the side facing the air hardens and remains sticky, so that sanding is not necessary before applying another coat. However, by adding paraffin, the chemical properties can be changed so that it hardens without sticking to the air side. In this case, sanding is necessary.
Non-sticky means that the air-facing surface cures non-sticky, so sanding is necessary before applying another layer.
Our polyester laminating resins are based on unsaturated polyester resins, orthophthalic acid, and medium to high-reactive cobalt pre-accelerated materials. Their thixotropic properties make them particularly versatile and ideal for the manufacture of tanks, boats, car bodies, and industrial parts that must meet the highest quality standards.

These medium to high-reactive laminating resins are used for hand lay-up and fiber spray processes. The resins are thixotropic, cobalt pre-accelerated, and based on orthophthalic acid.
Polyester resin is used to manufacture tanks, boats, car bodies, and industrial components. It is used in the construction of pools and ponds and for waterproofing buildings.

You can laminate polyester resin with all types of reinforcing fibers. The most popular GRP fiber in the polyester sector is glass fiber mat.
Sticky means that the side exposed to the air hardens and remains sticky, so that sanding is not necessary before applying another coat. However, the addition of paraffin can alter the chemical properties so that it hardens without sticking to the air side. In this case, sanding is necessary.
Non-sticky means that the air-facing surface hardens without sticking, so that sanding is necessary before applying another coat.
Please note that cured resins can only be removed by mechanical cleaning, such as sanding. Acetone can be used to remove uncured resin residue from tools. Ensure that the tools are sufficiently dry to prevent contamination in new containers.
