Acetone is used as a solvent to clean tools and surfaces that have come into contact with synthetic resins. Thorough surface cleaning is required before applying synthetic resin, and parts that have been treated with acetone should always be ventilated for 2-3 hours.
Styrene is used as a solvent to reduce the viscosity of unsaturated polyester resins. When added to polyester resins (with a styrene content of 35%), the proportion should not exceed 10%, as a higher addition can make the resin brittle. Almost all unsaturated polyester resins can be diluted with styrene.
Isopropanol is known as a solvent, cleaning agent, degreaser and adhesive residue remover. It is isopropyl alcohol, also known as isopropanol (IPA) or 2-propanol, and is one of the simplest non-cyclic, secondary and monohydric alcohols. This colourless, highly volatile and flammable liquid is used as an aid in removing dirt deposits and residues. Isopropanol is characterised by its versatility and a purity of 99.8%.
