Styrene is used as a solvent to reduce the viscosity of unsaturated polyester resins. When added to polyester resins (with a styrene content of 35%), the proportion should not exceed 10%, as a higher addition can make the resin brittle. Almost all unsaturated polyester resins can be diluted with styrene.
Isopropanol is known as a solvent, cleaning agent, degreaser and adhesive residue remover.
