Mold wax (Spacewax)
Universal release wax in paste form for polyester and epoxy resin processing.
Suitable for models, new tools, and continuous production.
Allows multiple demolding at temperatures up to 140°C with broken-in tools.
Application:
Use a clean, soft cotton cloth to apply the release wax. Apply the release wax generously to a visible area and polish to a high gloss with a clean cloth after approx. 30 minutes.
New molds require four to six layers of wax, whereby you must wait until the solvent components have evaporated before applying each new layer. As an additional safety measure, we recommend applying a PVA release agent for the first few demoldings.
Recommendation: Always temper new molds.
Note:
Despite rapid polishing of the applied layer, the wax film remains only on the surface of the mold without penetrating it. Due to the exothermic heat development that occurs during the first demoldings, the release wax is gradually driven deeper and deeper into the surface pores until the mold reaches a so-called “wax-rich” state. As a rule of thumb, 4-6 demoldings are required to achieve the desired state. As an additional safeguard against sticking or sticking, it is recommended to apply a PVA film during this “conditioning” of the mold, which can be easily dissolved with warm water if necessary. Once a new mold has been properly broken in this way, Spacewax 300 can be used to achieve very good results in terms of the number of possible separations.
New molds should always be tempered at 50°C for at least three hours before starting to apply the release agent.
