What does the hazard label mean?
GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals)
Standardized hazard pictograms and texts are intended to reduce the risks to human health and the environment.
The labeling applies to the manufacture, transport, and use of chemicals and hazardous substances worldwide.
The labeling consists of:
- Hazard pictograms; where applicable, with a common signal word “Warning” or “Danger”
- H statements (hazard statements) and additional EUH statements for specific hazards
- P statements (precautionary statements)
The H statements are the hazard warnings. They indicate the potential hazards of the products.
The P statements are safety instructions. They indicate the safety measures to be observed when handling the products.
The phrases are coded with three-digit numbers.
The H phrases are divided into the H200 series for physical hazards, the H300 series for health hazards, and the H400 series for environmental hazards.
The P phrases are divided into the P100 series (general), P200 series (prevention), P300 series (response), P400 series (storage), and P500 series (disposal).
All products requiring labeling have a label on our packaging with the relevant hazard pictograms, the signal word, and the H and P statements.
