Tips on tear-off fabric
The material and its advantages

PHD tear-off fabric is made of woven polyamide (”nylon") with a weight of 85g/m², has high tensile strength (>300N/cm) and is heat-resistant up to 170°C.
The fabric absorbs excess resin and is removed from the component by tearing it off. After removal, the component is completely dust-free, clean, and has an even, rough surface structure, providing an optimal substrate for further laminating, sealing, or bonding. You save yourself the hassle of sanding and removing sanding dust.
Preparation and processing
The tear-off fabric should always be cut generously.
Make sure that there is approx. 10 cm of excess fabric on all sides, as this will make it easier to remove the fabric later.
The tear-off fabric is applied to the last layer of resin, which is still liquid, using a venting or laminating roller. Once the resin has hardened, the tear-off fabric can be removed. To do this, it is slowly torn off the component at an acute angle. You now have an ideal surface for further processing.
