with our Epox H1 resin system + R1 hardener
The resin and all necessary materials (molds, tools, etc.) should be at a temperature of 16-25 °C. It is best to place them overnight in the room where you will be working. Any damp or cold environment will affect the end result. The room must be as free of dust and dirt as possible.
Quantity calculation:
The cube measures 10x10x10cm = 1dm³ = 1 liter, which corresponds to approx. 1.2kg of resin system. Our recommendation: Item number: 940138-G

100 parts resin R1 / 38 parts hardener H1
Preparation of resin
- Weigh and mix the resin and hardener accurately and carefully, preferably using kitchen scales (pay close attention to the mixing ratio).
- Be sure to mix slowly to avoid creating bubbles.
- Once you have thoroughly mixed the resin and hardener, pour the mixture into a second cup and mix again to ensure that no unmixed resin remains—this is known as “double potting.”
Processing
The mold into which you pour the mixed resin system can be made of various materials, such as silicone, wood, or plastic. You should use a release agent to remove the cube from the mold without damaging it.
For a 10x10x10cm cube, you should work with 2 pours. When pouring any synthetic resin, always observe the maximum pouring height to avoid overheating during the curing process.
If you want to make even taller or larger objects, you will need to pour in several steps.
The following always applies:
Allow the resin of the first layer to reach the B stage (approx. 9-10 hours) of curing.
The B stage means that the resin has hardened but is still sticky. To determine whether this stage has been reached, touch the resin with a gloved finger. If it leaves a mark but does not stick to the glove, it has reached the B stage and you can proceed to the next step of the casting process.
If you allow the resin to cure after the B stage (i.e., miss the B stage phase), the resin will not chemically bond with the next layer.
You will then need to sand it with coarse sandpaper to create a bond with the new layer.

Storage of epoxy resin
Seal opened containers tightly with the original lid. Store in a cool, dry place. Can be stored for at least 1 year under optimal conditions. As the hardener reacts with humidity and carbon dioxide in the air, opened containers should not be left open.

Cleaning work equipment
Cured resins can only be cleaned mechanically, for example by sanding! Acetone can be used to remove uncured resin residues from tools, which must then be allowed to air sufficiently to prevent the cleaner from entering new containers!
