What is the mixing ratio for synthetic resins?

Epoxy resin

There are different mixing ratios for epoxy resin, depending on which system you use. These ratios have a decisive influence on the properties and, for example, the processing time. The two-component systems are precisely matched to each other. It is essential to adhere strictly to the mixing ratio, which can only be achieved by weighing the components accurately using digital scales.

Here are a few examples:

  1. Our shop offers adhesive resins with a short processing time of only 5 to 15 minutes. These fast systems enable quick bonding. Epox4305/Hardener140-F: Processing time (at 20°C) approx. 15 minutes, mixing ratio 100 parts epoxy resin / 40 parts hardener
  2. Our casting resin for thick-layer applications cures very slowly in order to reduce heat generation, among other things. EpoxR3/HardenerH3 slow: Processing time (at 23°C) >10 hours, mixing ratio 100 parts epoxy resin / 50 parts hardener
  3. Our laminating resin Epox4305/Hardener1203-F: Processing time (at 20°C) approx. 60 min, mixing ratio 100 parts epoxy resin / 60 parts hardener
  4. Our topcoat is a very versatile system and suitable for various applications. Epox4305/Hardener313: Processing time (at 20°C) approx. 40 min, mixing ratio 100 parts epoxy resin / 50 parts hardener

Our Epox 200G epoxy resin with hardener 120L or 15L is a system for hand laminating for vacuum infusion, fiber winding, and other processes. The pot lives can be adjusted by mixing the two hardener variants 15L and 120L.

Polyester resin

With polyester resin, a hardener addition of 1-3% is possible. Depending on the layer structure and resin type, the mixing ratio must be observed; please refer to the respective data sheet. (high temperature - less hardener; thin layer - more hardener)

You can find the correct mixing ratio in our shop in the product description, in the technical data sheet, and after purchase also on the hardener bottles. You can use our mixing table to determine the correct quantities; this is available in our shop as a PDF file that you can print out.
