Resin
Acetone dissolves fats, resins, rubber, asphalt, and a variety of other substances. It is also used in the processing of synthetic resins to clean surfaces and tools.

Synthetic resin
Synthetic resin is a versatile modern adhesive that is used, for example, in boat building, in the home, and in model making. In combination with glass fiber, carbon fiber, and aramid fiber, it is used as a fiber composite material in the construction of modern gliders, but also increasingly in large passenger aircraft. Synthetic resins are also used in the production of stone carpets, as casting resin for the manufacture of components in casting processes, for industrial floors, concrete coatings, and concrete repairs. It is also used as corrosion protection, in the renovation of pipes, and in the sealing of terrariums.
Epoxy resins
Epoxy resins are in demand for high loads and are characterized by their excellent mechanical properties. Epoxy resin is a versatile adhesive used in boat building, household applications, and model making, for example. In combination with glass fiber, carbon fiber, and aramid fiber, epoxy resins are used as fiber-reinforced plastics in the construction of modern gliders, but also increasingly in large passenger aircraft. It is also used in the production of stone carpets, as a casting resin for the manufacture of components in the casting process, for industrial flooring, concrete coating, and concrete repair. The manufacture of fiber-reinforced components, including for aerospace, motorsports, and yacht building, often using the hand lay-up process, is another area of application. Epoxy resin is also used as corrosion protection (steel structures), in the renovation of pipes (e.g., drinking water pipes, underfloor heating) and in the sealing of terrariums, as it is non-toxic when cured. Epoxy resin is also used for casting electrical components for insulation and corrosion protection, as well as a substrate material for electronic circuits. It is also used in art and plastination.
Polyester resins
Polyester resins offer excellent value for money. We have the right polyester resin for almost every application. We offer a wide range of laminating resins, adhesive resins, casting resins, gel coats, and top coats. You can also easily order fillers for various applications, color pastes, fillers, release agents, and retarders online from us. Polyester resins are used in the manufacture of tanks, boats, car bodies, and industrial components. They are also used in the construction of pools or ponds and for waterproofing buildings.
Styrene-free polyester resin
Our styrene-free and styrene-reduced products may also be shipped to private customers.
Polyurethane resins
Polyurethane resins are used for primers, wood sealants, and surface protection. After curing, our primers have good mechanical properties, including wear resistance and hardness. They are highly resistant to numerous chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and various solvents. Topcoat 1-K is an excellent surface protection for structures exposed to water, such as swimming pools, ponds, water park slides, and pools. This product does not yellow when exposed to sunlight and produces a hard and flexible coating.
Synthetic resin is a synthetic material produced by polymerization, polyaddition, or polycondensation reactions. Synthetic resins are used as adhesives, coatings, casting resins, or fiber composites. The chemical industry modeled these materials on natural tree resin. However, these natural resins are increasingly being replaced by synthetic resins (synthetic polymers).
Epoxy resin
- Better mechanical properties
- Very good chemical resistance
- Excellent adhesive properties on various substrates (wood, metal)
- Very good fiber adhesion
- Low odor (contains no solvents), more suitable for indoor use
- Hardly any shrinkage during processing, therefore very well suited for molded components
- very good impregnation properties for glass filament fabric, aramid fabric, and carbon fabric
- prevents osmosis damage (boat building and renovation)
Polyester resin
- easier to process
- hardener addition between 1.0 and 2.5%, reaction time can be controlled
- lower price
The curing of synthetic resins is a chemical process and depends on several factors. With polyester resins, it is possible to control the reaction time by changing the amount of hardener. With epoxy resins, there are various resin-hardener combinations. The information in the technical data sheets and product descriptions is important; you can find this directly on the product. Temperature also plays a decisive role. The correct mixing ratio is extremely important, especially for epoxy resins.
During processing, fresh splashes or residues that have not yet hardened can be removed with acetone and a cleaning cloth. Hardened synthetic resins are best removed mechanically, by sanding with sandpaper or using a sander. It is essential to pay attention to the heat generated depending on the substrate layer in order to avoid damage to the material and the latent fire hazard.
